What this looks like, stage by stage.

    Early Childhood

    ≈ 3–5 years

    Recognises own name, body, and basic preferences; shows likes/dislikes in everyday choices.

  2. S2

    Childhood

    ≈ 6–9 years

    Names own likes, dislikes, and simple strengths; recognises feelings in familiar contexts.

  3. S3

    Pre-Adolescence

    ≈ 10–12 years

    Identifies personal strengths, interests, and areas of difficulty across school and home.

  4. S4

    Early Adolescence

    ≈ 13–15 years

    Describes own learning profile, support needs, and emerging identity to familiar adults.

  5. S5

    Pre-Transition

    ≈ 15–16 years

    Articulates a personal profile (strengths, needs, preferences) that informs planning conversations.

  6. S6

    Formal Transition Age

    16+ years

    Uses a documented personal profile to lead self-introductions in transition meetings.
